Local Word has been postponed

In light of the rising levels of illness across the community, Local Word Regional Showcase has been postponed until Friday 18 and Saturday 19 November 2022.


Digitise, share and preserve precious family memories at the library

Saving Family Stories will provide people in the local community with free access to equipment and technical support to scan, save, edit and share old negatives, slides, video footage and photographs. This project will allow precious family stories and treasured memories to be shared and enjoyed, and digitally preserved for generations to come.

Ocean Grove Library upgrade – temporary closure

Customers are advised that Ocean Grove Library will be closed for refurbishments from Monday 2 May and will re-open to the public on Monday 8 May.


No more QR check ins or vaccination certificates required

In line with the recent Victorian Government announcements, you will no longer need to check in to our libraries, or to show a vaccination certificate upon entry.

The Local Word: Regional Showcase for Writers and Readers

Geelong Regional Libraries is calling for submissions for involvement in our new regional showcase for writers and readers – The Local Word. We are inviting proposals from writers, readers, poets, illustrators and other creatives living in Geelong, the Bellarine, Colac, and the Great Ocean Road from Torquay to Cape Otway, to take part and deliver programs on all aspects of the writing craft and the publishing industry.


April public holiday closures
