We're excited to officially open the Makerspace at Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library!
The first dedicated Makespace in our library network, the Djilaga Makers Room, offers customers hands-on access to tools to support your creative pursuits.
Equipment includes a laser cutter (cuts multiple materials), CNC router (cutting & engraving), Cricut (smart cutting machine), heat press (fabric transfers), 3D printer, and thermoformer (3D plastic shapes creation).
To use the equipment in the space, you'll need to complete a safety induction. Inductions happen regularly, and you can book yourself in via our website.
Equipment and materials Access to the Makerspace – including your induction and use of equipment – is completely free.
To keep things running smoothly and safely, some machines need specific materials. We’ve got everything you need at Biyal-a – from 3D printer filament to vinyl, fabric, and more.
These materials are available to use at a small cost. For example, 3D printing starts from just $1, and Cricut vinyl is $3 per sheet. You can find a full price list for everything on our webpage here.
Payments for these materials can be made at the library. You can pay by cash or use EFTPOS.
Our friendly team is available to help you get started, choose the right materials, and make the most of your time in the Makerspace.
Opening hours The Makerspace is open weekly at the following hours:
