EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Adult Events At Geelong Regional Library Corporation (GRLC)

Local authors, craftspeople, artists and community interest groups are invited to apply to hold an event for our patrons at any branch of Geelong Regional Libraries, including the iconic Geelong Library & Heritage Centre in central Geelong.

We seek event applications from external groups and individuals year-round and assess on an as-needs basis*.

*Please note, we receive a large number of event proposals each year. If your event cannot be scheduled into our current program, we will add it to our Waiting List for possible future programs.

OUR AIM

The GRLC is committed to offering events that are responsive to the community and aim to increase reading, information and digital literacies, increase lifelong learning, build 21st century skills, enhance social connectedness and enable sharing of knowledge.

As per the Reading Ahead GRLC Library Plan 2017-2021, events, programs and activities held within the library should fit within the following guidelines and strategies:

Welcoming places and spaces - Present welcoming, purposeful and safe physical and digital library facilities at the heart of the community.
Learning for life - Deliver engaging library programs, print and digital collections, events and activities that encourage reading, support a range of literacies, promote lifelong learning and increase access and inclusion.
Sharing our stories - Capture, share, celebrate and preserve the stories – past and present – that tell of our region’s heritage, culture, creative endeavour and aspirations
Better together - Work collaboratively with community, government and business organisations to increase awareness of, access to and use of library services among targeted population groups.
