Visitor capacity limits and time limits increased

Following announcements from the Premier of Victoria yesterday about further easing of COVID-19 restrictions, we are pleased to be able to increase visitor capacity limits in most of our library branches from today.

In calculating the capacity limits in our branches and mobile libraries, we have complied with Government guidelines, including the density quotient formula of 1 person per 4m² space.

Some additional changes in branches from today include:

  • Time limits for visits have increased to two hours, except in periods of high demand
  • Increased availability of seating options
  • The latest copy of magazines are available for browsing
  • Community meeting rooms are available for hire by essential community services organisations
  • Sewing machines are available to book at Corio Library.

For further information about our library services at this time, including an overview of capacity limits in each branch and mobile library, please visit our Coronavirus information page.

The health and safety of staff and the broader community continues to be our priority, and we thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we navigate this period.
