Bannockburn Library will continue to open to the local community and visitors on Mondays, following a four-month trial of new operating hours.
The newly revised Bannockburn Library hours of operation were announced in response to community feedback and library use during the trial, initiated by Golden Plains Shire.
From Monday 6 August 2018, Bannockburn Library will operate:
Monday 10am – 1pm Tuesday 10am – 5pm Wednesday 10am – 6pm Thursday 10am – 5pm Friday 10am – 5pm Saturday 9am – 12noon Sunday Closed
Geelong Regional Libraries Board Member Cr Nathan Hansford says the revised hours of operation are intended to ‘effectively fulfil community expectation and access to Bannockburn Library’s resources and services.’
“Our revised hours of operation are a positive development for Bannockburn families and residents. Previously, Bannockburn Library was closed on Mondays,” Cr Hansford says.
“By closing one hour earlier on most weeknights we are able to balance resources and meet community expectation to be open Mondays.”
“Geelong Regional Libraries is thankful for the community’s considered feedback and continued support of their local public library,” Cr Hansford says.
