Colac Otway Celebration Week

Join us for a week of special events for people of all ages, as we celebrate the transition of Colac Otway Shire libraries to Geelong Regional Libraries.

COLAC COMMUNITY LIBRARY AND LEARNING CENTRE

TUESDAY 6 JULY

LEGO Architects – School Holiday Program
10.00am-11.00am and 2.00pm-3.00pm 

The ancient world is your sandbox. Become an architect and make your own ancient landmarks in this hands-on LEGO session. Suitable for children 8 years +. Book now for 10am or 2pm session. 

The Geelong Heritage Centre Collection & Services
2.00pm-3.00pm

This session, presented by Mark Beasley, Manager of the GHC Collection & Services, will include an overview of the collection in the Geelong Heritage Centre Archive and how the Colac Otway Shire community can explore, access and source local history and heritage information. The presentation will also feature a few special objects from the archive and some local Colac Otway Shire records which have been in the archive for over 20 years. Book now

WEDNESDAY 7 JULY

Family Fun Day
11.00am-2.00pm

Bring along the whole family for a range of free fun activities including live music, balloon sculpting, and performances from Dazzling Dan the Magic Man. Visit our Tech Zoo and let us show you how to create impossible photos to share with family and friends using the library's Green Screen, play with some of our robots or try flying a drone, it’s simple and fun! Author Talk: Neal Drinnan - How People's Stories Become Books

Family Fun Morning
11.00am-1.00pm

Lots of family fun and the chance to connect with your community at this family fun morning at Apollo Bay Library. Local children’s author Alison Corke will present a Storytime session with her recently published children’s book Bush Tales - The Quest, with follow-up craft activities for kids.
