New Birregurra Library Kiosk!

Exciting news - we are opening a new self-service library kiosk in Birregurra in early 2026! This will make it easier than ever for the local community to browse, borrow and return library items locally – at a time that suits.

What’s coming

  • A library kiosk is like having your own mini-library on demand in the community.  This  convenient self-service kiosk will be located at the Birregurra Community Health Centre. Think of it like a vending machine for books – you can collect your reservations, browse available titles on a screen, check them out with your library card, and return items easily.
  • You’ll be able to easily access to pick up and return items during opening hours (Monday–Friday, 8.30am–5.00pm)
  • Provides a flexible, secure way to borrow without having to time your visit around the mobile library

How it works and what’s changing

  • Reserve items online and we’ll let you know when they’re ready for collection at the kiosk (we can show you how to do this)
  • Drop in to collect, browse or return items at a time that suits you
  • The kiosk will replace the current fortnightly mobile library visit but a Geelong Regional Libraries staff member will still attend regularly to restock items, deliver programs and offer support – the same great service remains, but with increased access

This project is proudly supported by the State Government’s Living Libraries Infrastructure Program, delivered in partnership with Colac Area Health and Colac Otway Shire Council.

We will update you here with exact timelines - stay tuned!
