Currently, all of our libraries and mobile libraries are required by the Government to capture the contact details of each person that enters a library branch - in the same way as restaurants and cafes. So we can keep a record of who has visited libraries, you will be asked to present your GRLC library card AND photo ID (showing your residential address) to the concierge when you enter a branch. If you don't have a GRLC library card, you will need to present photo ID which shows your residential address.
In line with the Victorian Government's current Stay at Home Directions for the Metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire areas, we are required to refuse entry to a library to any person whose principal place of residence is in these areas. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. For more information, see the Department of Health & Human Services website.
