Geelong Regional Libraries is an eSmart Library!

Tuesday 6 August 2019

Geelong Regional Libraries (GRLC) is proud to have attained eSmart Status.

eSmart is an initiative of Telstra and the Alannah and Madeline Foundation, aimed at encouraging participation online while promoting safe, smart and responsible online behaviour. eSmart Libraries is a purpose-built system designed to equip libraries and connect library users with the skills they need for smart, safe and responsible use of technology.

To achieve eSmart Status, the GRLC has ensured that all staff members have received compulsory training in the program. Furthermore, the GRLC is offering planned sessions and informal assistance in digital literacy and cybersafety to members of our community.
Our advocacy of Digital Literacy and cybersafety will be ongoing, with further initiatives introduced as necessary to reflect the ever-changing digital environment.

Library staff can provide community members with free information and advice on how to be safe and smart when using technology or going online. Just drop into a branch or give us a call.

Find our more information about Cybersafety and digital literacy on our website here or view a short video about eSmart Libraries here
