3D PRINTING SERVICE

At Geelong Regional Libraries offer free 3D printing services at Geelong Library & Heritage Centre, Colac, Corio, Drysdale and Newcomb libraries.
We recommend attending one of our 3D Printing & Modelling sessions to learn how to use basic modelling tools to create your designs and submit with us for printing. Find out when our next session is here.
There are some technical guidelines which 3D print jobs need to adhere to:

  • Designs should take approximately 4-5 hours at most to print. Estimates of print duration are made by our print processing software when set to low quality
  • Print jobs should fit within a 13x13cm area
  • Files need to be in STL format
  • A maximum of 4 print jobs may be submitted per library member per month.

If you have something you wish to print that you think falls outside of these parameters, please book a time to speak to an Information Services Librarian to discuss your design.  Examples of free 3D printing design software include:

Tinkercad: browser-based (basic)
Blender: Windows, Mac & Linux (expert)
Thingiverse

Files will be printed within 1-4 weeks, depending on demand. You can submit your 3D Printing with us HERE

Library staff will contact you if we need further information to complete your printing job. By submitting your print job you are agreeing to our terms and conditions outlined below.
