  • Creating a healthy interior environment and make environmentally responsible choices

Alison Sim - Pain Heroes: Stories Of Hope And Recovery

Pain is experienced by everyone at some point in their life. Some people experience pain that hangs around far longer than it should. Join pain management expert, Alison Sim, as she shares the stories of people who have experienced persistent pain and recovered from it from her recent book, Pain Heroes. Alison will also offer some practical, evidence-based advice on how to embrace what modern science tells us about pain, in order to recover. No quick fixes or magic silver bullets, just sensible advice that is echoed by the lived experiences in the stories of the Pain Heroes.

Gregory Day - A Sand Archive

Gregory Day is a writer, poet and musician whose debut novel, The Patron Saint of Eel, won the prestigious Australian Literature Society Gold Medal in 2006 and was included on the VCE Literature syllabus for five years. He is a regular contributor to the literary pages of The Age and The Australian newspapers. Gregory will be joined by Deakin University's Associate Professor Maria Takolander for an evening not to be missed. Under discussion will be Gregory’s latest novel A Sand Archive. Hailed by 2018 Miles Franklin winner Michelle De Kretser as a ‘bravura work’, this ground-breaking book crosses between fact and fiction to produce a memorable reading experience.
