BOB MARMION – MURDER AT THE FORT

Free
One cold morning in late May 1942, the bullet-ridden body of Driver Roy Willis was found on the side of the Wallington-Ocean Grove Road. He had been shot anumber of times with a military revolver. Three months later, the killer struck again. Gunner John Hulston’s body was eventually recovered and like Willis, he had been shot in the chest with a .455 calibre army revolver. As with any good murder mystery, this story has more twists and turns than the Great Ocean Road. Local author Bob Marmion uses his experience as a former police detective and military historian to unravel this cold case mystery.

CHRIS FLYNN - MAMMOTH

Mammoth is an outrageously clever literary fiction/creative non-fiction hybrid romp through history that is endlessly entertaining, engaging, and endearing. Narrated by a 13,000-year-old extinct American mastodon, Mammoth is the (mostly) true story of how the skull of a Tyrannosaurus bataar, the fossilized bones of a dire wolf, a pterodactyl, a prehistoric penguin, the severed hand of an Egyptian mummy and the narrator himself came to be on sale at a natural history auction in New York in 2007.

Mammoth author Chris Flynn will be joined in conversation by Clare Wright OAM, an award-winning historian, author, broadcaster and public commentator who has worked in politics, academia and the media.
