Australian Poetry Slam is a live literary performance program where the audience decides the champion. With a nationwide round of 60 heats, the best slammers will perform for the chance to win the Australian Poetry Slam National Final at Sydney Opera House as part of Story-Fest. Hosted by writer, speaker, educator, performance poet, and Artist Ambassador for TEAR Australia, Joel McKerrow. Come along and compete or consume!

HIGH TEA WITH EMILY BRONTE

Celebrating the birthday on 30 July 1818 of one of the most enigmatic figures in English literature – Emily Brontë. Blending the few letters and diary entries that exist in Emily’s hand, with reminiscences from those who knew her and excerpts from her astonishing Wuthering Heights; this unique performance evokes something of her world, her work and her tragically short life. Devised and performed by accomplished Melbourne actress Lise Rodgers, whose career has spanned stage, screen and radio and widely known for her ongoing Jane Austen series of performances. Tickets $50, includes high tea and a glass of sparkling wine on arrival. Presented in conjunction with Tastes of Central Geelong.
