NAIDOC Week – Our Languages Matter: A Wadawurrung Perspective

This special evening event in recognition of NAIDOC Week will explore language from the Wadawurrung perspective. This session will celebrate the unique and essential role that indigenous languages play in cultural identity, linking people to their land and in the transmission of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, spirituality and rites. The session will be facilitated by anthropologist Heather Threadgold.

“… for my next, I have taken a heroine whom no one but myself will much like”Jane Austen 1814 To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the publication of Jane Austen's “Emma” in 1816, this charming one act performance reveals a more mature Jane Austen, quietly confident in her abilities as a novelist as she turns 40, finally assuming an active role in managing her own affairs. Based on her letters of the period and the novel itself, this beautifully costumed entertainment allows you to enter the world of Jane Austen.
