We are very proud to once again be partnering with the Geelong Food Relief Centre on the Food for Fines appeal.
The appeal will run across all libraries in the Geelong Regional Libraries' network from Friday 19 November until Friday 10 December.
During this period, overdue fines will be waived in return for the donation of non-perishable food items, which will be distributed by the Geelong Food Relief Centre to local people who are experiencing food insecurity.
In our previous Food For Fines appeal, generous library members donated two tonnes of food, during what is a very busy period for the Geelong Food Relief Centre in the lead up to the festive season. We hope to do even better this year!
If you have stopped using the library due to overdue items or fines, Food for Fines provides the perfect opportunity to get back to your local library and start borrowing again!
If you do not have library fines, but would still like to support the appeal, your donation would be gratefully received.
Thank you in advance to all our customers for donating generously to support the appeal.
Donated food items should have an expiration date of May 2022 or later.
Please note that fines for damaged or lost collection items are not included in this campaign.
In partnership with the Geelong Food Relief Centre.
