Library closures All libraries, including our mobile libraries, will close at 5pm on 24 December (except Highton Library will close at 1pm on 24 December). Most library locations will reopen on Friday 2 January. Lara Library will reopen on Monday 5 January and Barwon Heads Libraries will reopen on Tuesday 6 January.
All returns chutes will be closed during this period, so please hold onto your library items — there are no fines.
Geelong Heritage Centre closure Kim barne thaliyu / Geelong Heritage Centre will close at 4pm on 24 December. Limited online-only support will be available from 13 January, with full services and Research Room access resuming on 27 January.

At its Board meeting held on Thursday 30 April 2026, the Geelong Regional Library Corporation (GRLC) resolved to place the Draft Budget 2026-27 and Strategic Resource Plan 2027-30 on public exhibition in preparation for adoption on Thursday 25 June 2026.
We are currently experiencing a network-wide issue affecting our public computers across our library branches. As a result, public computer access is currently unavailable.
We are reviewing our mobile library service across Golden Plains and the Bellarine, and we’re inviting community feedback to help guide its future.

The Birregurra library kiosk at the Community Health Centre is now available for members to borrow, collect, and return library items at a time that suits them.
