Dolores Skowronski-Malloni - Trees: Capturing the Essence of the Botanical Gardens

Celebrated artist Dolores Skowronski-Malloni’s work is represented in collections in Australia and internationally. In 2016, working with artists and students of the Botanical Art School at the Geelong Botanic Gardens a limited edition book, TREES - Capturing the Essence of the Geelong Botanic Gardens was published. In this Heritage Festival special event, Dolores will discuss the journey to publication and showcase the stunning illustrations of the heritage listed trees of the Geelong Botanic Gardens.

WILD Speak - Women Sharing Power 50:50 in 2017 Council Elections

Thinking of standing for Council but want to know more?
Then don’t miss this important forum hosted by WILD and WICLAC (Women in Community Life Advisory Committee to Council).
The forum, featuring a dynamic panel of speakers and chaired by Cr Margot Smith, Surf Coast Shire, will address the roles, rewards and challenges that Councillors face in public life. The session will provide a range of pre-election information and training for prospective candidates and their supporters.  Participants will learn more about community identified priorities for Geelong’s new Council and have their questions answered.

Come on a journey of imagination to discover secret trapdoors, touch the skin of a dragon and hide away in a reading pod. Encourage your child's sense of discovery, play and exploration. Be inspired to find other wonderful children’s books to take home and share together.
Featuring a selection of beautiful illustrations reproduced from the Scholastic Dromkeen Children’s Literature Collection at the State Library of Victoria.

Dr David Rowe is a local architectural historian and heritage consultant, and Heritage Advisor to the City of Greater Geelong, Golden Plains Shire and Surf Coast Shire. In this fascinating presentation he will be focussing on a selection of Geelong’s heritage-listed houses, from the earliest to the most recent and give an overview of their built and social history, design and construction, and their significance to the Greater Geelong area.
