Join us for this very special event with Anne Summers in conversation, as she discusses her inspiring memoir.  One of Australia's most influential women, from cadet journalist, to policy maker, to change agent at large, her new book reveals stories about the famous and powerful people she has worked with or reported on. Anne is refreshingly frank about her own anxieties and mistakes as well as her, at times, heart-breaking family story of violence and ultimately reconciliation.

Gregory Day - A Sand Archive

Gregory Day is a multi-award winning novelist, poet and musician from Victoria, Australia. He is also an acclaimed nature writer and literary critic. His new novel A Sand Archive was published in 2018 to outstanding reviews.
Dual Miles Franklin winner Michelle de Kretser described the book as: “At once effortlessly cosmopolitan and firmly attached to the particularities of place, A Sand Archive is a bravura work”, whilst Stella Prize winner Carrie Tiffany believes that the book’s main character, F.B. Herschell, is “one of the greatest characters of Australian literature”.

The Benefits of Cancer Research

Join the Geelong Region Cancerians for a specialist panel discussion aimed at exploring the early detection, prevention and research of various types of cancer. Panelists will include Professor Tom Jobling OAM a Director of Gynaecologic Oncology at Monash Medical Centre and recipient of the Order of Australia Medal in 2017 for services to Ovarian Cancer Research; Dr Karl Najjar, a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and awardee of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists; cancer survivor Maureen O’Keeffe and panel moderator Roxie Bennett.
