The Local Word: Regional Showcase for Writers and Readers

Geelong Regional Libraries is calling for submissions for involvement in our new regional showcase for writers and readers – The Local Word.

We are inviting proposals from writers, readers, poets, illustrators and other creatives living in Geelong, the Bellarine, Colac, and the Great Ocean Road from Torquay to Cape Otway, to take part and deliver programs on all aspects of the writing craft and the publishing industry.

The Local Word will feature in-person and online writers’ workshops, panel discussions and author events showcasing locally based emerging and experienced authors, with plenty of opportunities for social interaction and developing collaborative prospects.

The event will be held on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 August 2022. The full program will be announced and tickets will go on sale at the beginning of July.

If you are interested in being involved in this exciting new forum, please complete the Expression of Interest and email to Caz Copic by Tuesday 26 April, 2022.

Please note, Geelong Regional Libraries pays fees based on ASA rates.
