Sally Gray - Friends, Fashion and Fabulousness, The Making of Australian Style

Australia in the 1970s was "the most creative place in the world" according to celebrity shoe designer Manolo Blahnik. Join us for this special event as researcher and academic Dr Sally Gray joins Geelong Gallery Director Jason Smith to discuss her book 'Friends, Fashion and Fabulousness: The Making of an Australian Style'. Linking fashion, art, sexual politics and diverse urban subcultures, four friends in particular form her central narrative: fashion designers Jenny Kee and Linda Jackson, and artists Peter Tully and David McDiarmid. Their creative trajectories and interactions, their collaborations, passion and politics, continue to resonate today.

Craig has spent the past 30 years employing, working with and mentoring thousands of teenagers in his many Subway stores. His book '28 Tips for Teenagers: Life Skills That Fast Track Success' looks at a range of skills that Craig believes are important in the transition from school to the workforce and beyond. He highlights areas that may need improvement coupled with tips that can help teenagers reach their own full potential.
