Bannockburn Library News

New operating hours for Bannockburn Library

Opening at 9am and on Mondays! We've listened to your feedback, so from Monday 5 February Bannockburn Library's NEW hours of operation will be:

Monday 9am-1pm

Tuesday 9am-5pm

Wednesday 9am-6pm

Thursday 9am-5pm

Friday 9am-5pm

Saturday 9am-1pm

Sunday Closed

This change is a four-month trial to determine the demand for earlier openings and Monday opening. Please share this information and encourage your friends and family to visit the library and become a member.

There are many benefits of free library membership including:
Access to a broad range of books,magazines, newspapers, DVD and CD collection items to borrow from, as well as access to the whole Geelong Regional Libraries' collection of over 430,000 items; public access PCs and iPads; free wifi access; scanning, photocopying and printing; study and reading spaces; meeting room available for community hire; outdoor courtyard; kids 'Play and Learn' touchscreen PC’s; as well as library events, including weekly Toddler Time, Preschool Storytime and Babytime.

Public holiday opening hours information

Our libraries observe the following public holidays according to their municipalities: Geelong Show - Friday 19 October, Geelong Cup - Wednesday 24 October and Melbourne Cup - Tuesday 6 November.


Introducing the Queenscliffe Maritime Museum Collection

A partnership between the Queenscliffe Maritime Museum and Geelong Regional Libraries has enabled broad public access to the Museum’s rich maritime book collection for the first time.


White Night Geelong

Saturday 13 October, 7pm-late Geelong Library & Heritage Centre The international phenomena White Night is coming to Geelong on Saturday 13 October, and Geelong Library & Heritage Centre will host the amazing art installation Phantasmagoria by artist Christopher Langton.
