All Geelong Regional Libraries will be closed for the Australia Day Holiday, Friday 26 January. Normal hours resume on Saturday 27 January.
The communities of the City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast Shire, Golden Plains Shire and the Borough of Queenscliffe and our library members demonstrated their support for those in need by donating literally ‘tonnes’ of food for the Geelong Food Relief Centre’s annual Food for Fines campaign.
Almost 2 tonnes of food items were donated to the Geelong Food Relief Centre this year from the Food For Fines campaign.
The Geelong Heritage Centre celebrated the visit of the 100,000th visitor since opening in its new location at the Geelong Library & Heritage Centre two years ago. Since moving into the new building, visitation has exceeded even the most hopeful forecasts with tens of thousands of people visiting the beautifully-appointed reading room and enjoying the combination of skilled staff, the latest digital technology and a wealth of historical records that combine to bring the past alive.
