Getting ready to become a new driver in Victoria? Aussie-Driver.com provides a free online program for Australian learners who want to practice their skills before taking their Learner Permit Knowledge Test.  There are 3 car practice tests (45 unique questions each; 135 questions in total) and an online version of the official Vic Driver’s Handbook. The practice tests are 100% free and are designed to mimic the real learners test as much as possible.

The Directory of Funders is an alphabetical listing of more than 300 grant-making organisations detailing their fields of interest, contact information, summary of purpose, geographical scope, legal limitations, grant restrictions and application procedures.

The Directory is for:

  • Grant-seekers eg. charitable organisations seeking funding for a project
  • Not-for-profit sector
  • Researchers looking for information on philanthropic giving in Australia, or for the contact details of trusts and foundations in Australia

British Newspaper Archives

The British Newspaper Archive contains over seven million pages of digitised United Kingdom and Ireland newspapers from the British Library's collection with new items being added each day. You can search a number of ways including by newspaper title or geographical location.

New users are asked to register for the first time with an email address and password and will need to log in each time they wish to access the archive. Once logged in users will be able to save searches and bookmark articles.

Find my past users can access records from Australasia, Ireland and the UK.

Find my past Australasia contains over 50 million historical records covering Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands. Coverage includes directories, gazettes (government and police), electoral rolls and cemetery records.

Find my past UK holds approximately 750 million British records. It includes death & marriage indexes, parish records, census records, immigration & shipping, electoral rolls and military records.

Find my past Ireland includes over 4 million records comprising land records, prison registers, military records, wills, obituaries, gravestone inscriptions and marriages.

Who Else Writes Like…? is designed to help fiction readers who have read all the books by their favourite authors and are seeking to try new authors. Of course, no author writes exactly like another, but the selection of alternatives provided should help to narrow the choices and the author entries also provide links to their websites for further information.
